The purpose of this investigation was to determine the type and prevalence of oral soft tissue injuries in children examined in a hospital emergency room and our department. The leading cause of the oral soft tissue injuries was falls, accounting for 61.8% of all injuries. The male-to-female ratio of the injuries was 2: 1, and the peak age was 1 year old. Laceration of the superior labial frenum was the most predominant injury, accounting for 27.0% of all injuries. The peak month for the injuries was June. Emergency treatment under general anesthesia was done in 11 cases, and 12 cases were hospitalized for a few days.
