Benign cementoblastoma is a tumor of the cementum that occurs in connection with dental root. It is believed to be a very rare lesion. We encountered a benign cementoblastoma at the root 6 in a 24-year-old male, and the extracted mass was examined for calcification (calcium and phosphorus) by a CMA (computer-aided microanalyser).
There was a tendency towards a higher distribution of calcium and phosphorus in the center of the mass than in the periphery.
The weight percentages of calcium and phosphorus in the mass were higher than in normal cementum.
