Weathers and Callihan, in 1974, referred to fibromas or fibrous lesions of the oral mucosa as “giant cell fibromas.” These lesions exhibit numerous large stellate cells and multinucleated giant cells histologically, discriminating them from usual fibromas.
Giant cell fibromas have several interesting clinical and histopathological features, however, only a few of these lesions have been reported. This paper describes a case of giant cell fibroma that appeared on the lingual gingive of the lower jaw in a 3 year old male.
