Abstract
A case of deep neck infection with severe dyspnea secondary to odontogenic infection is reported. The patient was a 55-year-old man with marked swelling in the left buccal, submental, and cervical regions. CT scanning revealed multiple areas of gas formation in the infected regions, resulting in severe stricture of the airways. The patient was successfully treated by emergency tracheotomy for dyspnea an extensive incision was made to promote pus discharge, and antibiotics were administered.
