Abstract

A case of hemangiopericytoma of the palate is presented. The patient was a 47-year-old woman. She came to our department because of swelling (2×2cm) of the left side of the hard palate, present for 1 year. MR imaging showed an isointense tumor on T 1- and T 2-weighted images, and a dynamic study showed a short time to peak with a rapid washout pattern. The tumor was resected under general anesthesia, and the histopathologic diagnosis was a hemangiopericytoma with no malignant findings. There have been no signs of recurrence or metastasis as of 2 years 2 months after operation.
