Pharmacy is a science based on basic sciences such as chemistry, biology, and physics, and is related to human life, health, and society. Therefore, pharmacy students are expected to acquire the ability to relate and conceptualize various types of knowledge and apply them to solve problems. In clinical education settings, educators must make learners aware of the mutual relationship between basic and clinical knowledge and promote knowledge integration.
In general, teachers in basic sciences lack opportunities to come into contact with examples of how basic knowledge can be used in clinical settings, and clinical pharmacists are gradually losing their basic thinking, which raises the issue of insufficient communication between them. Therefore, we would like to introduce practices, experiences, and ideas on knowledge integration from various perspectives, and to provide an opportunity to consider teaching methods that promote knowledge integration.
