Application of small amount of Barium for the purpose of describing the Reliefbild of gastric membrane follows change in conditions of Barinm such as granular coagulation and bubblelike state in Magen, the degree of which may slight or severe according to circumstances. The conditioal change is dependent of gastric acidity and of the selection of Barium Wander or the viscosity of Barium required. Therefore, experiments, precedently accompanied by the measurement of each kinds of Barium, were made on the effect of fluidity, diffusion, miscibility, Barium P. H., and the mass of gastric juice, on the conditions of Barium of each viscosity, both in vitro and in vivo. Results : Viscosity differs with the temperature of each Barium was stable in considerable high acidity. Barium P. H. on the other hand, rendered little influence in proportion to the strength of alkalinity. These results indicates low viscosity and comparative high alkalinity of Barium are advantageous for describing munute change of gastric membrane.
