Summary The roentgenography table for craniocaudad projection has been developed in our department particularly to facilitate the application of the same compression immobilizer as for mediolateral projection. The clinical usefulness of these two inventions, table and immobilizer, was evaluated in craniocaudad two times magnification mammography. The obtained results were as follows : 1. The positioning was much easier and more precise than the conventional method. 2. The spreading of the base of breast gland and the retromammary space produced by the compression invited significant increase of the diagnostic information source. 3. The improvement of the quality of film images was so impressive in sharpness, contrast and resol ving power. 4. The carefully designed lead protector which was furnished on the table quaranteed thouroughly negligible gonad dose. The combination of these particular table and immobilizer is considered significant for the improvement of the film images of magnification mammography.
