Ioxilan, a new non-ionic contrast medium, was evaluated quantitatively for its diagnostic capability by means of densitometry. As a result, Ioxilan was revealed to be a very useful contrast material, which showed no significant difference in its roentogenologic contrast ratio, compared with Iopamidol and Iohexol. The evaluation for diagnostic capability of a contrast medium by densitometory is more quantitative and objective in comparison with visual judgement. Therefore, this method should be further evaluated regarding the diagnostic capability of the contrast media.
