Abstract

This paper describes an expert system, for supporting the operators of a substation which provides them with helpful guidance under the fault condition. We acquired the knowledge of temporary restoration by Bridge Person Method. Using the aquired knowledge, we developed several prototypes and a practical system. We verified that the support function was useful on an actual substation. Our system has following features. (a) The system has multiple inference engines. An inference engine is prepared for every kind of processing (task) to give guidance that closely follows the thinking process of the operators. (b) The system is provided with an event-driven reasoning system which flexibly changes the flow of reasoning in response to the events or changes in the state of the electric power system.
