Abstract

A hybrid method combining successive LMI optimization with the branch and bound method is used in simultaneous optimization of structural topology, shape and control such that simultaneous optimization can be applied to more general class of truss structures. A numerical example of somehow complex structure is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and to analyze the characteristics of the optimum structural configuration.
