Equations of tWo-dimensional thermoelastic problerns for multiply-connected regions and those for the bending of elastic plates show the analogy between them.Through these properties, the general experimental method for solution of plane thermoelastic problems is developed and applied to several models. The agreement between the experimental results bythe present method and theknown theoretical values is assured to be sufficient for practical purposes. Moreover the thermal stresses for a solid-propellant grain, which have not yet been solved theoretically, are obtained by the present method.
