Four black lacquered Natsume samples, each with different Hira and Oh Natsume, finished with both freshly applied and Roiro finish were used as test samples. The relationship between the sensory evaluation of lacquer films using the SD method and the light reflection characteristics was examined, focusing on the gaze of Urushi craft experts equipped with eye-tracking measurements. As a result, although they prioritize the evaluation of the finishing process, they are evaluating both the shape and overall aspects. And factor analysis showed a correlation between “glossiness” and “blackness”, and a strong correlation between “Atatakami” and “Mukkuri”. Craft experts evaluate black Natsume based on their years of experience. From gaze evaluation using an eye-tracking device for gaze measurement, it was found that for samples A and B, in the items of “Atatakami” and “Mukkuri”, participants spent more time looking at the upper left and edge areas, which is associated with “liking”.
