The Analysis of Patent Rate Concerning Technical Scope Standardized by the Number of Noun Phrases

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to verify correlation between patent rate and standardized technical scope statistically. In this study I used one index, the number of noun phrases in grammatical case, which was already confirmed about the effectiveness in prior paper. In this study I analyzed practical patent claim focused on the technical field of optical communication. It was found from the result that plus correlation and nonlinear correlation is found between patent rate and technical scope standardized by the number of noun phrases. Furthermore In this paper I raised consideration about the reason why nonlinear correlation is found between patent rate and standardized technical scope.
