The hydraulic control system to make the work speed reduced with the occurrence of chatter vibration is set up according to the principle of adaptive control for work regenerative chatter vibration, which was described in the previous paper, and the effects of adaptive control upon the suppression of the chatter vibration are experimentally examined by the grinding test.
It is made clear that the vibration can be surely controlled to occur if the responsibility of control system is chosen so sharp as to quickly respond to the amplitude modulated frequency of chatter vibration without any phase lag, or on the contrary, is chosen so dull as to slowly respond to the emvelope of modulated amplitude when the chatter grows up gradually.
