Work softening of steel prestrained as compression and tension at room temperature was reported already. This report describes work softening obtained from deformation by compression, tension and torsion for steels prestrained by drawing with 4 rollers and torsion. Evident difference between work softening and Bauschinger effect was obtained from the experiment of torsion forward and reverse direction. The decrease of Rockwell superficial hardness number in the experiment was up to 8.1% from compressed steel prestrained by drawing.
