Abstract
In general, the core loss of manganese zinc ferrites is affected by their grain sizes, resistivity and that spinet phase is ideally perfect or not. The homogeneity of microstructure is particularly influenced by starting raw manganese oxides. Therefore, manganese zinc ferrite samples were made from MnO2, Mn2O3 and Mn3O4, respectively, to and investigate their magnetic properties and homogeneity of spinel structure.
The sample made of Mn3O4 indicated an excellent frequency dependency for initial permeability and core loss. Moreover the homogeneity of cation configuration in the spinel structure was confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. The result of homogercity of rile spinet structural coincided with the arlalytical results of temperature dependence of magnetization.
Furthermore, the influence of manganese oxide as starting material, on homogeneity of spinel structure was examined by using thermogravimetry - differential thermal analysis.
It may be concluded that the reaction between Mn3O4 and Fe-Zn oxide mixture proceeds at first in all combination of manganese oxide and oxide mixture, and then Mn-Zn-Fe spinel was formed.
