Abstract

A 69-year-old woman was admitted with dyspnea and right chest pain. On admission chest X-ray film showed an atelectasis of the right lung. Bronchofiberscopic findings revealed stenosis of lower trachea and pinhole-like stenosis of the right main bronchus, but chest tomography showed the truncus intermedius. Chest X-ray film after the conservative therapy showed improvement of atelectasis. Tuberculosis tracheo-bronchial stenosis was diagnosed and carcinoplasty was performed. Resection of the right main bronchus, right sleeve lobectomy, and resection of 4 tracheal rings was performed. The truncus intermedius was moved to the side of the trachea and implanted above the anastomosis of the trachea and the left main bronchus. The postoperative course was uneventful.
