Efficacy of Bronchoalveolar Lavage in the Diagnosis and Evaluation of Response to Therapy of a Case of Pulmonary Nocardiosis Complicated by Bronchiectasis

Abstract

The BAL was employed in both diagnosis of pulmonary Nocardiosis and in therapeutic response evaluation in a 52-year-old woman with bronchiectasis who complained of hemoptysis. She was successfully treated with sulfamethoxazoletrimethoprim.
