Abstract
The type material of the Taiwanese species of Cyparium and Toxidium described by MIWA and MITONO is studied Cyparium formosanum is redescribed and a lectotype is designated Cyparium monticola is placed in synonymy with Pseudobironium languei, and a lectotype and paralectotypes are designated for the former. Cyparium montanum and Toxidium villosum are reported from Taiwan for the first time. Pseudobironium hisamatsui sp. nov. is described from Taiwan. Lectotype and paralectotype are designated for Toxidium formosanum, a species currently placed in Scaphobaeocera. Keys to the Asian species of Cyparium and to the Taiwanese species of Pseudobironium are provided.
