Abstract
A 1-year-old spayed female Cavalier King Charles spaniel (CKCS) presented with right aural pruritis. A bulging pars flaccida was identified on otoscopic examination with no evidence of otitis externa noted. Hyperintense tissue was identified in the right bulla on T2 weighted MRI images. A myringotomy and video otoscopy were performed, and highly viscous, gray mucous discharged from the right tympanic bulla. Two weeks following the procedure, the pruritic behavior was decreased, and based on this progress, the dog was diagnosed with primary secretory otitis media (PSOM).
