A case of feline Bowenoid in situ carcinoma with long-term remission following indocyanine green assisted diode laser thermocoagulation therapy

Abstract

This case report describes the course of a cat diagnosed with multiple Bowenoid intraepithelial neoplasia on the face. The cat was treated with indocyanine green-guided semiconductor laser thermocoagulation therapy which resulted in sustained remission. This treatment was selected because surgical excision would have been difficult to perform due to the underlying disease and anatomical constraints, and topical imiquimod therapy was impractical due to management issues. Complete epithelialization was achieved by day 47, and no local recurrence was observed up to day 161. A postmortem histopathological examination also revealed no evidence of recurrence.
