This report is about a new method of kanji teaching as Blended Learning via the E-Learning program 'Kanjikreativ' developed by Professor Dr. Yoriko Yamada-Bochynek and tested at the FU Berlin since the wintersemester 2008/09. The aim of the course was to enable students to recognize the form and the meaning of the 1945 kanji for everyday use (Joyo kanji). The students learned the kanji with the E-learning program at home. In class, they had weekly tests and were provided with strategies for kanji learning and practiced them.
