DL is an interactive system for assisting the learner of the Japanese language to read and understand sentences, and CGI-DL makes him/her use DL through internet. This paper aims to investigate the requirements for using of CGI-DL, and how the teacher gives guidance to the students when the students use the system for their self-directed study of the Japanese language. The system was introduced to the learners who have the different ability of the Japanese language, and use the system in the different computer facility. After 2 months later, we did a survey. The results show that they need more personalized computer to use with the proper explanation of CGI-DL.
