In order to obtain natural frequencies of a rectangular plate contacting with water, Kitoh's equation has been used widely. But accuracy of this equation is not so good for the higher order natural frequency range due to the assumption based on.
To obtain higher order natural frequencies of the rectangular plate, the author proposed new equation, based on thin-plate theory, of a simply supported plate contacting with water, which showed better accuracy than that by Kitoh's equation.
