In this paper the author describes the effect of the protective net of the bimetal self-registering thermometer on its temperature. It is found that the effect is a function of α(=constant of the lag), and it is better when there is no protective net than when there is that net.
In the case of the ventilating, the value of α becomes equal to that α of the mercury thermometer.
