  A magnetoresistive head (MR head) is applied to the reproduced process in perpendicular recording in comparison with longitudinal recording medium. High readback voltage by a factor of nearly two is obtained in associate with its large recording magnetization. in a perpendicular medium. D₅₀ of the perpendicular medium is the same as the longitudinal one, which is thought to be resolution limitation of the MR head.
