Abstract

In general, 3D printer has been interpreted as one of "manufacturing" technologies. So, material science, mechanical science and system science are working as major academic communities to deal with researches around 3D printing. However, 3D printing is one of digital fabrication technologies based on digital infrastructure. Academic communities on Informatics are in charge of cultivating new data science, modelling methods and connections with AI. We are leading the COI (Center of Innovation) project called "Kansei-Oriented Digital Fabrication" (2013-2021). In this report, we introduce our research projects tightly coupled with informatics.
