Abstract

The fatty acids of the Mesocarp oils of Lindera strychnifolia (Sieb. et Zucc.) F. Vill. Neolitsea aciculate (Blume) Kodz., and Neolitsea sericea (Blume) Kodz. were analyzed by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. Each component was identified comparing with authentic compounds. The fatty acids identified were palmitic, hexadecenoic, stearic, oleic, linoleic, and linolenic acids. The major component was oleic acid.
Consequently, a characteristic cis-4-alkenoic acid, which was found in the seed oils of the above mentioned plants, were not found in these mesocarp oils.
