Abstract

Authentic samples for identification of steroids in the shoots of dwarf mutant of Arabidopsis thaliana L., 24-methylcholesta-4, 24 (28) -dien-3-one and 24-methyl-5α-cholest-24 (28) -en-3β-ol were synthesized using olefination with Tebbe reagent as a key reaction. Related steroids, 24-methylcholesta-4, 24 (28) -dien-3β-ol and 24-methyl-5α-cholest-24 (28) -en-3-one, were prepared.
