In rural areas, joint transport service for passenger and package using the vehicles of public transportation has been payed attention. This service is expected to improve not only the profit of the public transportation company but also the manpower shortage which the package delivery company faces. However, it is difficult for the company to introduce the services because it is uncertain whether the profit increases or decreases when he/she makes decision. In this study, we focus on the taxi service as public transportation and develop the integer programming model to estimate the profit with joint transport service. In addition, we analyze the operation of the joint transportation services using actual data and examine the feasibility of joint transportation services in terms of the profitability as a case study.
