Abstract

In Yuzawa Town, Niigata Prefecture, as many as 58 resort condominiums were built at the bubble economy. In recent years, some people have settled in resort condominiums. In this study, we identify issues associated with settlement of resort condominiums and examine measures that are necessary to promote the utilization of resort condominiums. As a result, we clarified that (1) Many of the permanent residents are elderly single or married couples from out of Yuzawa town, (2) there is a high level of satisfaction with living in resort condominiums, and (3) owners excluding permanent residents are positive about the increase in permanent residents. the issues associated with settlement include problems with the elderly, lack of parking space, and the existence of properties that are not suitable for settlement.
