Abstract

In recent years, people’s lifestyles have been undergoing significant changes amid advancements in information and communication technologies and COVID-19. This study investigates temporal changes in people’s lifestyle behaviors from the perspectives of “activity location” and “use of information and communication devices.” The results indicate the following: 1) While time spent on hobbies and leisure activities at home has greatly increased, the time devoted to social interactions in public spaces has tended to decrease. 2) There are clusters that focus heavily on cyberspace-based activities for both work-related and personal purposes, and each cluster’s share is on the rise, especially among men. 3) Larger metropolitan areas tend to see greater adoption of cyber space in daily activities, with a notable increase in their use for work among high-income households.
