Evaluation of Tactile Tiles Installed on Sidewalk

Case Study in Kanazawa City

Abstract

In this study, tactile tiles installed on sidewalks in Kanazawa City were surveyed and the visually handicapped were interviewed on the matter with tactile tiles while walking on a street. As a result, it was difficult to detect tactile tiles because of variety of the color or the shape of protrusion of tiles. and bar tiles for the guidance of direction were not installed sufficiently.
