Abstract
Average individual time allocation for leisure has increased in recent years in Japan. A time-series analysis considering tourists' characteristics such as gender, age, generation is very important in order to suggest efficient tourism policies. This study focuses on:(1) the domestic tourist behavior by generation;(2) tourism trend from 1970 using data such as household census, person trip survey, and tourist behavior survey;(3) tourists' behavior using time-series analysis of Age-Period-Cohort profile data; and (4) effects of ‘Age’, ‘Period’ and ‘Birth Cohort’ on tourism demand.
