Abstract
 This paper shows spatial agglomeration patterns of a two-dimensional core-periphery (CP) model. In order to analyze bifurcation patterns of this model, we extend an analytical approach for a one-dimensional CP model proposed by Akamatsu et al. (2009). Applying the proposed method, we prove that a system of Loösch’s hexagonal market areas emerge in the two-dimensional CP model.
