The issues over the Healthy Family Act as a new family life support system in South Korea were examined by using Introduction to Healthy Family (the second edition, 2010). As a result, the following points were clarified. (1) The concerns for healthy family have risen by the importance of the family, concerns for the quality of life, a paradigm conversion to the respect for life and dignity, revalues of caring, the appearance of various families, etc. (2) The researches on "Healthy family" have been done aggressively in South Korea since the beginning of the 1990's. The themes were as follows; the concept and characteristic of healthy family, programs, the Healthy Family Support Centers, the Healthy Family Professionals, etc. (3) The effects of the Act are as follows; specification of family policy, installation of special department for families, expansion of range related to the family policy, accomplishment of prior and preventive business, reduction of societal cost, etc. (4) Social contribution of the Act are the improvement of policy efficiency, long-term effect on the family issues, achievement of social integration, comprehensive and long-term policies, the creation of employment, etc.
