Abstract

The phosphorylase activity was determined with the growing endosperms of each of the starchy, waxy and sugary races of maize as well as those of the hybrids, starchy×waxyy and starchy×sugary. Changes in the enzyme activity were followed during the period of from 10 to 35 days after pollination.
No appreciable difference was found to exist between these different races and also between the hybrids thereof.
