Observation of Hyper-Raman Scattering Spectra Due to Lattice Vibration in SrTiO₃

The hyper-Raman scattering spectra from Raman-inactive lattice vibration modes in SrTiO₃ and their specific polarization dependences have been observed at room temperature. The observed frequencies of four modes including T_2u silent mode are in good agreement with the existing data obtained by neutron scattering or infrared measurements.
