Magnetoelectric effect was observed in ZnCr2Se4 below 20 K, in the state of screw spin structure. Magnetic field dependence of the effect at 4.2 K was qualitatively interpreted by the appearance of Dzyaloshinski interaction, when the field was applied along [001] or k0, the wave vector representing the screw structure. When the field direction is changed, however, the effect was rather difficult to be accounted for.
