Abstract
In previous paper, it was revealed that ignition timing for homogeneous charge compression ignition engine in which ethanol-gasoline blends are used is advanced compared with gasoline's one under a certain condition. And a factor was analyzed by using chemical kinetics simulation under constant pressure and adiabatic condition. In this paper, effects of in-cylinder temperature history and residual gas on ignition timing were examined by the chemical kinetics simulation in combustion chamber condition to further clarify the difference in ignition characteristics between ethanol and gasoline.
