Abstract
In this work, the ash mobility was modeled to estimate the ash distribution in Diesel Particulate Filter channels and the pressure drop throughthe filter. The characteristics of accumulated ash, i.e. particle diameter, porosity, and permeability were taken into account to model the transport. The model was finally validated with experimental data of DPG (Diesel Particulate Generator). As a result, predicted ash distribution in thechannel and pressure drop through the DPF have good agreements with measured data by the use of DPG.
