Studies on the breeding of Pelargonium species used for the essential oil production. III. Cytological observation of Pelargonium denticulatum and P. roseum.

Abstract

Pelargonium deleticulatum and P. roseum are twospecies cultivated in Japan fcr geranium oil produc tion. Previous papers of this series reported the somatic chromosome numbers to be. 88 in P. delcticulatum and 77 in P. roseum (TAMAI et al., 1958 & 1963). The present paper describes chromosome behaviours in PMCS of both species.
