This study aims to clarify the characteristics of natural objects and images in waka poems of Nishiyama, Kyoto, by focusing on the region of images. After extracting the natural objects in each place from the waka poems in the early modern guidebooks, we categorized and analyzed the characteristics of the image based on the contents of descriptions and the historical and social background of the places. Moreover, we analyzed the relationships among the images of each place and their changes over time, considering the similarity of the images and the proximity of the places. As a result, clusters of images with high similarity and commonality across several places were recognized. In the clusters, we recognized that the images were inherited and reproduced over the ages.
