This paper discusses Electroretinogram (ERG) in cynomolgus monkeys used in non-clinical study. ERG involves stimulating the retina with light, and recording the resultant response as waveforms, thereby assessing retinal function. The retinal structure of cynomolgus monkeys closely resembles that of humans, making ERG data from cynomolgus monkeys highly contributory to the development of new pharmaceuticals and treatment methods. This article provides detailed descriptions of the measurement methods, waveform specifics, and responses based on the ISCEV standard, in addition to addressing important considerations during measurement. It is hoped that this paper will aid in advancing ERG research utilizing cynomolgus monkeys.
