In this paper, we introduce the practical use of Google Forms in the examination course for Mechanical Design Engineers Grade 3. We consider it an important goal to improve teaching methods to increase the number of successful mechanical design engineer candidates from the Aichi University of Technology. A clicker is often used in this context to enable a bidirectional lecture and enhance educational effects;however, it can be costly to use. Thus, we used Google Forms instead, enabling bidirectional lectures incorporating smartphones. A survey conducted at Aichi University of Technology found that bidirectional lectures incorporating smartphones were almost universally accepted by the students.
