Troweling skill greatly differs between plasterers and is dependent on such factors as their stage of development, degree of skill, experience, and age. To date, the troweling motion (how to move the trowel, move one’s body, use one’s joints, and maintain distance between one’s body and the wall being troweling) of plasterers has not been analyzed, thus necessitating the present study. The purpose of this study is to analyze the motions of plasterers with different skill levels and quantitatively evaluate their individual differences using experiments in which the walls of newly built wooden-frame buildings are troweled using prepared plaster developed by the authors.
