We have been continuously engaged in scientific awareness activities related to scientific manufacturing. Based on our experience and knowledge, we have created a series of electronic instruments for STEAM education called “Photomin” so that people can learn to make things and program with pleasure. We have developed a new version of Photomin using educational microcomputer, micro : bit to make electronic crafting and programming easier and more familiar for children, especially for those who are not skilled in computers. This paper describes the structure of the new type of Photomin, the fabrication method, and the outline of the program. In addition, we also implemented a workshop for elementary school students, and we report on the design of the workshop, the issues found in its implementation, and the children’s efforts.
