It is extremely important for construction management engineers not only to improve their technical skills in their specialized field, but also to enhance the generic competencies necessary for construction site management. Therefore, construction management engineers need to maintain and enhance their professional competencies through activities as practitioners. This paper discusses the generic competencies required of construction management engineers who practice comprehensive management of QCDSE (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Environment) at construction sites.
