Abstract

 The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between job stress (job characteristics, personal relationship, communication) and organizational effectiveness(turnover intend, job satisfaction, organizational commitment) of the leisure sports instructors.  Data were collected from 465 male and female leisure sports instructors in the public/private sport facilities located in Seoul City and Kyunggi Province. To measure the job stress, the questionnaire developed by Ivancevich and Matteson2)was used. And to measure the organizational effectiveness, the questionnaire developed by Beehr1)was used. The statistical techniques used for the analysis of this study were Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis.  The results of this study were summarized as follows: the job stress was affective on the organizational effectiveness of the leisure sports instructors. Especially, the communication was the most effective variable on the turnover intend and job satisfaction, and the job characteristics was the most effective variable on the organizational commitment.
